Happy Bank Holiday! The weekend kicked off with a fine preview evening of the RNLI art exhibition in Newton Ferrers. The rain did not stop play! Any preview evening that serves gin cocktails is a fine preview with me! So many super local artists took part and the evening was busy with visitors throughout.
I'm pictured on the front of this post with 'The Swan Inn', a textile original of a local pub in Noss Mayo, the neighbouring village to Newton Ferrers. I do frequent this establishment from time to time, especially when I'm out on the River Yealm on my kayak and in need of a refreshment break!
Lots of art was sold over the weekend including a few of my textile pieces. I'm not sure exactly how much was raised for the RNLI yet, but it's definitely going to be a substantial figure. Huge congratulations and thanks to the committee who worked very hard to make it such a success. I am very proud to support this important charity with my art and will continue to do so whenever I can.
This art event takes place every August bank holiday so if you missed it this year, there's always next time! I'll be there!
On monday I return to my studio to resume work for my christmas exhibition. I can't bring myself to count down the weeks (not just yet anyway!).
I hope you're all having a wonderful bank holiday!
