I popped in to the Mason Laurence gallery this week and was super delighted to see my abstract textile work so beautifully displayed.
A breakaway from my usual style, these pieces are portrayals of various themes, purely interpreted in colour and texture. Abstract work is definitely different for me but this was an experimental project I thoroughly enjoyed and it's never a bad thing for us artists to flex our creative muscles from time to time. They also look particularly good with the moth and butterfly sculptures by my good friend, Andre Daniel. This gallery really knows how to partner art and in their words, 'let the pieces talk to each other.
This is'Tor De Moor', a semi abstract representation of the textures and colours of Dartmoor. Memories of many wonderful walks, letter boxing with the kids, exploring and discovering new tors. Somewhere I love to be.
These framed originals are available to buy from the Mason Laurence Gallery in Dartington and they measure 24 x 19". They are priced at £550.
As well as this collection, they have other pieces of my work, both as originals and limited edition prints.
Please do get in touch if you have any more questions about these pieces, or if you'd like some closer images.
