Autumn In the Making…

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." Anne of Green Gables

It’s here again… my favourite time on the creative calendar. Beautiful autumn….

Every year I create a special autumn collection and it is officially now underway. I have no doubt there will be pheasants, cow parsley, trees, autumn flora and leaves… lots and lots of leaves!!

My current mood board for inspiration… including Mabel my faithful mannequin.

I’ve always loved autumn. Woolly jumpers, log fires, casseroles and long autumn walks. Nature is always an art gallery to me but never more so than in autumn. What is so wonderful about my studio is that every window I look out of, I see nature and I see a change every day. One of the things I particularly love spotting are autumn hedgerows. I love hedgerows but especially at this time of year. They are brimming with berries, leaves, beautiful shapes and textures and of course they are micro villages for a host of wildlife. Expect some sort of hedgerow this year! Here’s one I photographed just yesterday…

Even on a drizzly day, an autumn hedgerow is a beautiful piece of nature’s art.

So I’m very excited about this collection, which I will be keeping under wraps for now. I’m sure there will be little peeks to see… keep an eye here and on social media.

This year of course I have my new home and giftware range and as you can see, autumn does feature!!

All of these can be found on the website under the homeware collections :)). I have them in the gallery too.

So time to get sketching, snipping and stitching… there is work to do!!

I will be having an open evening at the gallery on Friday 27th October, (6 - 9pm) where the first phase of autumn work will be revealed!! Hope you can make it.
