Well the clocks have sprung forward and lighter spring evenings are upon us. Lighter evenings, especially sunny golden ones, are the inspiration behind this piece. ‘Calm Evening’ is a new limited edition print release, taken from an original I created last summer.

This is a tranquil seascape, beautifully filled with rich, vibrant texture. I felt that this piece conveyed the soothing feeling of a calm summer evening, where one can relax and take in the refreshing sea air, while simply watching the gentle ocean ripples dance across the surface. A statement piece for lovers of the ocean.

Although a bright blue seascape, the subtle tones suggest the soft hush of evening light, which was exactly my intention. The seagulls add a gentle, magic touch of life, while the beach flora softly frames and completes the idyllic seaside scene.
