Unlock your potential and learn the art of textile creativity. I currently offer a range of half and one day themed workshops - all from a lovely studio in Plymouth. As well as learning the fundamental skills and techniques of textile art and free motion embroidery and applique, I also cover core principles like perspective, composition, lighting, shading, and colour theory. Beyond technique, art lessons foster self-expression, confidence and the ability to appreciate different perspectives. They’re also great fun!!

Classes are small and relaxed. They are held in a spacious studio filled with fabric samples, trimmings, paints and an array of tools for embellishing, adding layers and creating depth. As well as creating your own piece of art, you will learn how textiles can be applied to so many other art and craft genres.

I am a qualified adult tutor who welcomes students of all ability levels, offering supportive and accessible instruction. I will guide you through every step as needed! I also run advanced classes for those who wish to further extend their skill and knowledge base.

Most workshops require you to bring a fully working sewing machine with a free motion embroidery foot but apart from that, all materials are provided. I do have two suitable machines available for loan, if required. There is a surcharge of £10 to loan a machine for any workshop. Please get in touch before booking if you require a machine.
