Dreamy Retreats…
My new collection of festive miniatures has arrived and I’m very excited to reveal them, as well as the inspiration behind them.
My festive ‘rest nests’ are inspired by my love of wintertime and all of the cosy, wonderful treats that come with it — from crackling log fires and crisp snowy mornings to steaming mugs of hot cocoa. From charming cottages to alpine lodges, each is a fantasy festive dwelling that my imagination never seems to run short of, delighting in the tiny details and cosy scenes that keep unfolding (fortunately!).
Without further ado, let me reveal….
‘Snowdrift Lodge’
Off grid and under a blanket of snow! This charming dwelling encapsulates everything a cosy winter break should be, with logs stacked and the firewood at the ready. As always, a watchful robin gently completes this serene, snowy scene.
‘Swiss Cottage’
Inspired by an enchanting trips to Austria and Switzerland and the constant drooling at the pine lodges nestled high in the mountains. They are works of art in themselves and just so alluring. A perfect winter break…
‘Christmas Cottage’
A sweet and charming take on a gingerbread cottage, lovingly detailed and filled with seasonal festivity. Undoubtedly, next years Christmas card design :))
‘Pinewood Lodge’
Another warm, inviting alpine lodge, framed by thick falling snow and a soft, powdery blanket covering the surrounding slopes. Snowballs and sledging, promising plenty of frolics for everyone to enjoy…
Finally, Winterland. A crisp, snowy landscape filled with wintry fauna and frosted foliage. A perfect place to clear the cobwebs and embrace the glorious wintry air.
All of these framed miniature originals are now on my website. I know I am biased of course, but I think they’d make wonderful gifts for a lover of the festive season. Here’s the link to view them and see more info https://www.jackiegaletextileart.com/store-1-3
I like to think of my work as a brief escape — a gentle flashback to treasured memories, or simply a vivid image to delight your eyes and spark your imagination.
Merry Christmas to you all!
