A Place To Stay - Original Textile Artwork

This intricate piece is a tribute to the beautiful and endangered Marsh Fritillary butterfly. The number of this species have declined by around 79% as unfertilised grasslands and damp meadows have disappeared. Conservation efforts are helping to restore these precious habitats by encouraging the growth of Devil's-bit Scabious - the butterfly's essential food plant, represented here by the purple flowers. I see lots of this wild flower as I wander around the moors - lets hope very soon I’ll be seeing these glorious butterflies too. As this piece is inspired by Dartmoor, I've added fauna and fungi that share it's moorland home.

  • Original hand-crafted textile artwork

  • Framed size: 13 × 13”

  • Bespoke white wood frame and soft white mount.

  • UV-resistant non-reflective glass

  • Beautifully presented in a bespoke gift box
